Virginia Giuffre, known for her activism against sexual abuse and her accusations against Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein, has revealed a dire personal situation following a car accident. She announced on her Instagram that she has been informed she has “four days to live.”
Giuffre, who has been a vocal advocate for sex trafficking victims, previously disclosed that she was groomed by Epstein. On March 30, she posted a photo on Instagram showing her on what appears to be a hospital bed, with visible bruises on her face.
The 41-year-old described the initial months of 2025 as the “worst start to a new year” but chose not to delve into specifics. Instead, she revealed the accident’s severe impact on her health.
The image shared captures the gravity of her situation.
In the post, Giuffre explained that her car was “slowing for a turn” when a school bus collided with it. While the location of the accident remains unspecified, and it’s unclear if Giuffre was driving, she mentioned the bus was traveling at “110km” or 68mph. She likened the crash impact to a “tin can.”
Sky News reported a statement from her spokesperson, confirming the seriousness of the accident and her hospital care. Giuffre expressed gratitude for the support received.
Giuffre also shared that she is experiencing “kidney renal failure,” a critical condition where kidneys cease to function independently. The Cleveland Clinic identifies causes such as diabetes, hypertension, and acute injuries, with the latter being a probable cause in her situation.
Symptoms of kidney failure include tiredness, nausea, swelling, and mental confusion. Without treatment, it can progress to end-stage kidney disease, which can be fatal.
Doctors have predicted only “four days to live” for Giuffre. Treatment options typically involve dialysis or a kidney transplant, but Giuffre mentioned her transfer to a urology specialist hospital.
Urologists handle surgical matters related to the urinary tract. Despite the grim prognosis, medical professionals continue their efforts, though Giuffre has expressed her readiness to pass, wishing to see her children one last time. She is a mother of three.
In her post, she remarked on the futility of wishes, using a metaphor to illustrate her perspective on life’s unpredictability.
Giuffre concluded her message with heartfelt thanks, acknowledging the support and love from people throughout her life.
