Washington Dad Erupts at Neighbors After They Gave His Son a Religious Message With His Halloween Candy

A Washington father launched a profanity-laced tirade against a Bellevue, Washington, Christian family after discovering religious pamphlets in his son’s Halloween candy bag.

The confrontation, which occurred on Halloween night, was captured on video and posted online by Jonathan Choe of The Choe Show. The footage shows the unidentified man standing in front of the family’s residence, his young child visible inside a parked Tesla, as he unleashed a stream of insults directed at both the homeowners and their faith.

The dispute began when the family distributed trick-or-treat bags containing candy and a Bible tract bearing the message “Jesus loves you.” The pamphlet outlined basic Christian beliefs through sections titled “God loves you,” “We disobeyed God,” “Jesus made a way,” and “Jesus is Lord,” and included a short prayer.

“Don’t try to convert kids on a f—ing holiday,” the father said in the video. He then struck a crucifixion pose and continued, “F—ing fictitious God in the sky… Go worship your Christ, he died for your sins.”

Throughout the outburst, the man’s bewildered son remained in the passenger seat of the Tesla before sliding into the back seat, apparently trying to distance himself from the scene.

“I can’t believe somebody with all this s— could believe in something as stupid as that,” he added, flashing middle fingers at the camera.

The father also shouted that other religious communities in the neighborhood did not need to hear about what he called their “f—ing fantasy god.” The recording does not capture any events that may have preceded or followed the tirade, and it remains unclear whether the family responded verbally during the confrontation.

The video has circulated widely online, drawing attention to tensions between religious expression and secular expectations during holiday celebrations. The father has not been publicly identified.

The incident highlights ongoing cultural friction in suburban communities where door-to-door religious outreach intersects with family-oriented events. Bellevue, located across Lake Washington from Seattle, has seen significant demographic shifts in recent years as the tech industry has expanded in the region.

The Choe Show’s posting of the footage has generated substantial engagement, with viewers divided over whether the father’s reaction constituted an overreach or a legitimate response to unsolicited religious material directed at children.
