Weezer’s Scott Shriner gives update on wife’s condition following police shooting and arrest for attempted murder

Scott Shriner, the bassist for Weezer, has provided an update concerning his wife’s condition following an incident where she was shot by police and subsequently apprehended on suspicion of attempted murder.

On April 8, a Tuesday, the Los Angeles police responded to an incident in the Eagle Rock area following reports of a hit-and-run on the 134 Freeway.

Three suspects allegedly fled the scene of the collision on foot, heading into a residential zone around 3.24 pm PT. During the search for these suspects, officers encountered Jillian Shriner, who was reportedly outside her home holding a handgun.

Police clarified that Jillian Shriner was not associated with the initial hit-and-run incident. However, she allegedly ignored repeated commands to drop her firearm.

The author is accused of pointing the gun at the officers, prompting them to open fire and wound her in the shoulder.

Subsequently, Jillian was charged with attempted murder related to the altercation with the police.

Scott Shriner has now updated the public on her status, indicating she is doing “alright” following the shooting.

While speaking outside their residence on April 10, the 59-year-old conveyed to reporters, “She’s alright, thank you for asking.”

He also took a moment to mention his band’s forthcoming performance, saying, “See you at Coachella.”

There had been concerns that Weezer might need to cancel their set at the Indio, California festival due to the unforeseen arrest.

Nonetheless, it seems the band, with Scott Shriner as their bassist since 2001, will continue with their plans.

Jillian Shriner, who married Scott in 2005, was hospitalized with a ‘non-threatening gunshot wound’ before being taken into custody.

Police reported finding a nine-millimeter handgun at the home she shares with Scott and their two adopted children following her arrest.

The chaos began with a multi-vehicle hit-and-run, triggering a large-scale search in Los Angeles.

One suspect was apprehended in his underwear, while the other two remain at large.

Eyewitnesses informed KTLA that at least one suspect left the crash scene on foot.

Eventually, LA police located a suspect at the crossroads of Waldo Place and Eagle Vista Drive, who is expected to face felony hit-and-run charges, as per CBS News.

The suspect reportedly attempted to blend into the neighborhood by stripping down to his underwear, swimming in a residential pool, and watering plants.

A woman involved in the highway collision was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Police are still searching for the other two male suspects connected to the crash.

Both LAPD and representatives for Weezer have been contacted by UNILAD for statements.
