Laura Izumikawa, a photographer, is just a wee bit obsessed with her 4-month-old daughter, Joey Marie.
Which comes as no surprise, because ~obviously~ this tiny bundle of joy is as adorable as they get.
The new mom said she couldn’t help but stare at her young ‘un while she slept — and that’s when a wonderful idea struck her.
“Joey slept so deeply so I thought it’d be fun adding little props around her just to send some hilarious pictures to our parents and friends,” she said.
With items scavenged around the house or borrowed from friends, Izumikawa pieced together miniature outfits that resembled famous people and characters. Like this one, where her baby transformed into singer/songwriter, Sia, down to the very last detail.
“It’s really hard not to laugh!” Izumikawa said.
And nothing disturbs Joey’s sleep, apparently. When she wakes up in the middle of a photo shoot, Izumikawa said, “She usually just smiles and goes right back to sleep which is kind of crazy.”
“If it was me, I don’t think I could just go back to sleep, especially with a ridiculous wig on,” she added. “I think those are the moments I try especially hard to stifle my laughter.”
Izumikawa said she hopes the photos bring joy to people’s day “and also make future-Joey laugh.”
“If she’s our kid, she’ll probably have a good sense of humor and will have a big laugh about it,” she said.
“I really hope she sees how incredibly loved she was,” she said.
Izumikawa also sometimes puts up a behind-the-scenes video, such as this one of a (very confused, but otherwise indifferent) Paul Bunyan.
Note the deep-sleep test of lifting baby Joey’s arm up and letting it fall to the bed. #Science
This tiny human no bigger than a loaf of bread already has a pretty hefty following on Instagram, all because of her amazing repertoire of sick character cosplays. Like this Jon Snow…
Super Saiyan Goku from Dragon Ball Z…
And a few choice Pokémon outfits.
Sleeping Joey also seems to be a Disney fan, transforming into Cinderella…
As well as The Little Mermaid, in both human and fish form.
When Izumikawa dressed Joey as Eleven from Stranger Things, the post went massively viral, receiving more than 10,000 likes in a few days.
THE DRESS. THE NOSE BLEED. THE EGGOS. IT’S TOO MUCH.
