Bad Bunny’s performance at the Super Bowl LX halftime show was historic even before it commenced, as it marked the first time music sung in Spanish headlined the NFL’s biggest event of the year.
This monumental occasion was not lost on Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio MartÃnez Ocasio. His 15-minute performance was infused with elements of Latin American culture and artistry, along with some significant messages.
Transforming San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium into Puerto Rico’s sugarcane fields, Ocasio, dressed in white, delivered his hit songs and interacted with famous personalities such as Cardi B and Pedro Pascal. The show also featured a surprise appearance by Lady Gaga.
Among the standout aspects of the night was a subtle yet poignant moment that many viewers might have overlooked. As Ocasio danced among vibrant performers, he paused to kneel down to a young boy.

In front of a TV, the child received a Grammy from Bad Bunny.
While this gesture might symbolically represent the inspiration his six Grammy wins provide to younger generations, some interpreted it as a more overt political statement.
“The little boy, Bad Bunny, gave the Grammy to resemble Liam Ramos. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was intentional,” one user on X commented.
Liam Ramos is a child who was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in January, while walking home from school in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.
