Preschoolers collect all manner of weird and wonderful objects during the course of the day — and these items, stuffed into their little pockets, are the subject of San Francisco photographer Melissa Kaseman’s sweet photo series entitled “Preschool Pocket Treasures”.
In it, she captures the little treasures found in her son’s pockets each day.
“The magic of childhood is so fleeting, and these objects I kept finding in Calder’s pockets represent a chapter of boyhood, his imagination, and the magic of finding a ‘treasure,'” she told The Huffington Post.
“I feel like the treasures show that art, color, and form play a major role in how Calder views and learns about the world,” Kaseman said, adding, “A simple object can hold so much weight in one’s mind.”
The photographer hopes her photos will help people see “the magic of discovery in a child’s imagination.”
It certainly does that. And reminds us of our own random-object-collecting days.
Do you remember what you kept in your pockets?
