The Maine Coon is the largest domestic cat breed in the world. Known for their very affectionate natures and cuddly, squishy fur, these ginormous cats make for a whole lotta fluffy love.
#1. This is Romeo with owner and strong lady Camilla Pelleri.

#2. Maine Coons are also described as having “clown-like” personalities, which explains why Zahzu, below, is happy to pose with this human.

#3. Here’s Oliver, a blind Maine Coon who probably feels more like a tiger.

#4. 28-pound Slash’s tail looks bigger than this human’s leg.

#5. This human is 4’10 and not much bigger than her resident floofmonster.

#6. The record-holder for longest cat was Stewie, a Maine Coon who measured four feet from his nose to the tip of his tail.

#7. Maine Coon’s are thought to be one of North America’s oldest natural breeds, from working farm cats. By “working”, they must mean driving tractors, building walls, etc.

#8. Another job for Maine Coons could be celebrity lion lookalikes. Mufasa, is that you?

#10. They also come in handy if you want to work out but can’t make the gym.

#9. Sadly, Maine Coons are so popular a breed that they’ve been exploited by “kitten mills” who make a lot of money selling cats born in horrendous conditions.

#10. So make sure your Maine Coon came from somewhere nice (or adopt an equally cute rescue kitten).

We want to cuddle a giant Maine Coon! But for now we’ll just have to admire them from afar…
