The public clash between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has been addressed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The ongoing discord has captured the media’s attention as both figures engage in a highly visible conflict.
Once considered allies, the relationship between Trump and Musk has soured following the tech mogul’s recent withdrawal from the administration. Musk has openly criticized Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill,’ prompting Trump to express his ‘disappointment’ with Musk’s comments.
Beyond political disagreements, Musk has accused Trump of withholding the full set of Jeffrey Epstein files due to Trump’s alleged involvement. Musk tweeted, “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” further asserting, “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Musk followed up with another tweet stating, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out,” but did not offer any evidence to support his allegations.
Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier, was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges when he was found dead in his cell in August 2019, with suicide being the presumed cause.
Addressing Musk’s allegations, Karoline Leavitt described them as an ‘unfortunate episode’ during an interview with CNN. She remarked, “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted. The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”
Further expanding on the issue during an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity, Leavitt stated, “Just days ago, Elon thanked the president for his incredible leadership to cut waste and fraud in our government, which this one big beautiful bill does.”
She continued, explaining that while Musk, as a businessman, has the right to express his views concerning his companies, “as president, President Trump has a responsibility to fight for this country.”
Leavitt emphasized the significance of the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ describing it as ‘the most historic piece of legislation that has moved through Capitol Hill in modern day history.’ According to Leavitt, the bill not only offers the largest tax cut for middle and working-class families but also fulfills key campaign promises made by President Trump during his nationwide voter engagements.
