A recent video released by The White House on social media has been labeled as ‘cringe’ by many viewers.
Donald Trump has just returned to the United States after attending the NATO summit in the Netherlands. During this European visit, he met with King Willem and Queen Maxima. However, it appears that the meeting might not have been smooth for the Dutch royals, as Queen Maxima seemed to mock Trump.
Apart from this, an unexpected incident occurred at the summit involving Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Trump appeared to jokingly refer to Rutte as ‘daddy’.
Trump’s remarks followed a heated rant about Israel and Iran, where he stated that the two nations don’t know ‘what the f**k they are doing’.
When asked about this exchange during the summit, Trump explained: “They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard. You know, they fight like hell. You can’t stop it. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it’s easy to stop them.”
Adding to the conversation, Rutte commented: “And then Daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get it stopped.”
Rutte has clarified that he did not call the president ‘daddy’, yet the White House seems to be embracing this new nickname for Trump.
In a video compilation posted on the official White House social media accounts, clips from Trump’s quick trip to the Netherlands are set to Usher’s 2010 track ‘Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)’.
The peculiar video has sparked varied reactions online. Some viewers have labeled it ‘cringe’, while others have appreciated the humor in the post about the president.
“Ok that’s weird,” one critic commented on Twitter. Another agreed, saying, “I refuse to believe this is the real White House account.”
“What did I just watch,” asked another person, while someone else speculated it was posted by a parody account.
However, not all reactions were negative. One individual even suggested that the creator of the odd montage should receive a raise.
Another person echoed: “Absolutely epic! Whoever runs this page deserves a raise.”
“This is the funniest White House ever,” laughed another viewer.
Another fan lauded the White House’s efforts, saying: “Whoever is running these accounts/producing content. Kudos.”
