White House reacts sharply to South Park’s Trump joke in season premiere

The White House has released a statement following an episode of the popular comedy South Park that targeted Donald Trump.

South Park fans know the series is not shy about courting controversy, as seen in its episode addressing Lizzo and the alleged use of Ozempic.

The latest episode, titled Sermon on the ‘Mount’, has creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone taking a satirical jab at the US president.

In one scene, Trump clashes with the Canadian prime minister in the Oval Office. However, it is another scene that has sparked much discussion online.

In this particular segment, the Republican leader is depicted sharing a bed with Satan, saying: “Come on Satan, I’ve been working hard all day.”

Satan retorts: “You haven’t been working! You’ve been doing your stupid memes and just f**king around.”

The animated Trump then pulls back the covers, adding: “Come on Satan, you know you can’t resist this!”

After observing a comically small detail, Satan replies: “I can’t even see anything, it’s so small.”

It’s certainly a sharp joke.

The episode has prompted a reaction from officials, drawing widespread online chatter.

White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers told Rolling Stone: “The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after South Park for what they labeled as ‘offensive’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show.

“Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows. This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.

“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

This episode marks the first South Park installment in two years and kicks off a series of 50 new episodes premiering on Paramount.

Regarding the new contract, creator Parker commented: “We are grateful for this opportunity and deeply honoured by the trust placed in us. This is about more than a contract — it’s about our commitment to this organisation, our teammates, and our fans.

“We’re focused on building something special and doing whatever it takes to bring championships to this city.”
