The White House has published the findings from Donald Trump’s recent physical, after the president said earlier this week that he had passed it “perfectly”.
Trump underwent the medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 25, and soon after shared an update on Truth Social.
He wrote: “Just finished my six month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY.
“Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House.”
At the time, the president did not spell out what the check-up included, despite it being his third examination in the last year.
More details were provided on Friday (May 29), when President Trump’s physician released a letter stating that he is in “excellent health” following the assessment.
Capt. Sean Barbabella, a Navy captain who now serves as Trump’s physician, said the president showed “strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function”.

Barbabella also wrote that Trump is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” as questions continue to be raised about his ability to serve another term while nearing his 80th birthday.
The doctor added: “Preventative counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.”
According to the letter, Trump weighed 238 pounds and recorded a blood pressure reading of 105 over 71. By comparison, during a physical around the same time last year, he weighed 224 pounds and had a blood pressure of 128 over 74.
Trump’s resting heart rate was listed as 73 beats per minute. The report also noted that he takes rosuvastatin and ezetimibe to help manage cholesterol, along with aspirin.

Barbabella went on to say Trump’s cardiac age is “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.” The letter also stated that he scored 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a screening tool used to evaluate cognitive function.
