Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves have maintained a special bond for over 30 years, with a unique twist to their relationship.
Although it’s still a bit uncertain whether the two Hollywood icons are truly married, both seem to believe they accidentally tied the knot while filming Dracula in the 90s.
Curious how this could happen?
During the movie’s production, the characters played by Ryder and Reeves got married, and for authenticity, a real Romanian priest was brought in for the scene.
“We actually got married in Dracula,” Ryder once revealed.
“No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”
Despite not being romantically involved, Ryder and Reeves remain close friends and humorously refer to each other as ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ due to their impromptu wedding ceremony.
In anticipation of her upcoming movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ryder was asked about her connection with Reeves and the possibility of appearing in a John Wick film.
Josh Horowitz, an interviewer and podcast host, inquired: “Could you ever see yourself in [the John Wick] world?”
“If it didn’t involve a lot of stunts,” Ryder said. “I’m thinking of my bones.”
She added, “I would literally do anything with [Reeves]. He’s so special.”
Horowitz then asked Ryder about her texting interactions with the star of The Matrix.
“We do text […] We always say who it is, even though it says it on the text,” Ryder explained.
“On his birthday it’s always like ‘Happy Birthday, my husband!’ and I’ll [sign it off] Noni. He’s always like ‘Hey, wife! Love you KR57’. On each birthday he’s like ‘KR57’ or whatever his age is. He’s always done that.”

Although the duo are ‘married’, Reeves is in a relationship with Alexandra Grant.
They are believed to have started dating around 2019, and Grant has joined Reeves at numerous red carpet events since then.
On the other hand, Ryder has been in a relationship with Scott Mackinlay Hahn for 15 years.
The Stranger Things actress has never officially married (except for Reeves, in a manner of speaking), and neither has Hahn – likely why their supposed marriage hasn’t caused any issues in their respective relationships.
