A woman has shared a harrowing tale on Reddit about how she discovered her husband’s infidelity in a disturbing manner. Describing her ordeal as “embarrassing beyond belief,” she detailed the shocking discovery that has left many online readers appalled.
It all started when her husband requested her to access his banking app on his phone, but it was another app that caught her eye. She noticed a calculator app, which seemed odd to her. Curious but cautious, she made a mental note to investigate it later.
Upon researching, she realized that the misleadingly innocent calculator was actually designed to hide photos and videos behind a passcode. Easily guessing the passcode as their son’s birth year, she was devastated to find evidence of his adultery. “His passcode wasn’t hard to figure out (the year our son was born) and it turns out he’s been cheating on me with a woman who I assume is his coworker (based off the text conversations that were saved) for about 7 or so months as far as I could tell,” she recounted in her post.
Among the hidden files were explicit conversations, nude photos, and incriminating videos of her husband with another woman, presumed to be a colleague. “There were screenshot conversations, nudes of her, and worst of all there were photos and videos of them TOGETHER. Not out and about or anything, just all sexual in nature,” she wrote. The most disturbing video showed them in the family car, with the other woman sitting on top of him, and using their son’s blanket for warmth after complaining about being cold.
Shaken by the evidence, she managed to hold herself together to strategize her exit. Placing his phone back untouched, she spent the night in their son’s room, planning her next steps. The following morning, she acted normal but secretly contacted a divorce lawyer and prepared to leave him a note about the divorce when he returned from work. By then, her and her son’s belongings would be packed, and they would be at her mother’s house, who was already informed about the infidelity.
Responses to her post were filled with sympathy and support. One user commented, “Good Lord, that made my skin crawl, too! There’s just something about it that feels so gross.” Others encouraged her to secure all evidence before her husband could erase it, and many expressed sorrow for her distress. “I’m so sorry you had to see that. I wish you the best,” remarked another.
The woman’s bold steps towards reclaiming her life and the supportive online community highlight the resilience displayed in such personal crises. Though she has not provided an update on Reddit, the solidarity from commenters continues to resonate with those who read her story.
