Woman discloses surprising reason for charging family $330 each for Christmas meal

A mother from the UK is intending to charge her guests a significant fee for Christmas dinner, and she asserts that the high cost is justified.

Christmas is often viewed as a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate. However, Carla Bellucci has openly stated her plans to charge her guests, with the aim of profiting from the festive meal.

The rising cost of living means that expenses, including Christmas dinner, are increasing. For Carla’s family, the cost to enjoy lunch at her home is now $67 more than the previous year.

Her guests are required to pay £250, equivalent to approximately $330, which includes dinner and champagne. The planned menu features a prawn cocktail with pickled cucumber as a starter; the main course consists of short ribs, wild mushroom Yorkshire puddings, rosemary-scalloped potatoes, and sprouts; and for dessert, Christmas pudding is offered.

Why has she opted for this approach?

“Because I’m worth it, and it’s a[n] experience we all have a wonderful day and eat the best food cooked by the best chef with the best champagne,” she mentioned to UNILAD.

Regarding those who disapprove of her method, Carla was straightforward, stating: “Do one, I couldn’t care less. [It’s] my life, my way or the highway.”

Carla is also not fond of potluck dinners, where attendees bring a dish, commenting: “I hate it when people say I don’t charge I ask people to bring something that’s just another way of charging donuts.”

Addressing critics of her decision to charge for Christmas, Carla candidly remarked: “I don’t know why people go crazy. Chill, I wouldn’t want you at my table anyway so relax and enjoy your day!”

She further remarked: “I live my life my way couldn’t care less what anyone thinks of me on that note enjoy your Prosecco and sprouts merry Christmas.”

In her conversation with UNILAD, Carla revealed she is expecting 10 guests for Christmas dinner, potentially accumulating £2,500 ($3,300) from the event, although she clarified that the charge does not apply to children.

Her own children, aged 19 and 20 and now living independently, are expected to pay the fee.

Speaking to JOE, Carla mentioned that the television will be on throughout the day, and after a session of charades, she intends to wrap up the gathering by 10pm.

Wishing everyone happy holidays!
