Woman Discovers Ex-Husband’s Pedophilia: Signs She Overlooked

Lynsey Crombie, a well-known British TV personality recognized as the ‘Queen of Clean’ for her cleaning expertise, recently spoke about a deeply personal ordeal involving her ex-husband. Gaining initial fame from the UK reality TV series *Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners*, Crombie has since amassed a considerable social media following due to her cleaning advice and content.

Despite her professional success, Crombie’s personal life faced significant challenges, particularly when she uncovered that her former husband, the father of her two children, was a pedophile. She first opened up about this shocking revelation on *This Morning* in 2021, revealing that she had been completely unaware of her ex-husband’s criminal background until shortly before his arrest.

Crombie explained: “I had no idea. I had gone back to visit my parents for a few days, and I just thought, ’What’s gone on while I was away?”

The specifics of his conviction remain undisclosed, but he was identified as a ‘schedule one sex offender’, which signifies a conviction for an offense against a child.

At the time, Crombie was 28 weeks pregnant with twins and described a compulsion to clean everything thoroughly, including herself.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, she recalled: “I remember pouring it all over the work surfaces, and over my own hands and arms, and I scrubbed. I scrubbed everything – myself included – with a scourer. I remember thinking that this man had touched me physically and I want all his germs to go.

“I still remember the fumes and how I felt afterwards – not good. It was a coping mechanism rather than normal behaviour, but when you are married to a paedophile…”

Unaware of her ex-husband’s offenses at the time, Crombie now recognizes certain warning signs from their relationship.

She mentioned that he would often be absent from their bed in the early hours, preferring to be in his office at the computer. She recounted instances where he would abruptly pull the plug from the wall whenever she entered the room, rather than simply closing the computer.

Crombie also shared a similar account on the *Life, Interrupted* podcast in 2021, saying: “I used to go into the office and he used to always pull the plug out of the wall where the computer was.

“So rather than just closing the laptop down or letting me see the screen, he’d actually pull the plug out of the wall.

“And it’s only when I look back – and I spotted this three or four times in the relationship – I think “what was he doing on the computer to actually physically pull it out of the wall?”

In the aftermath of this discovery, she initially felt she couldn’t have his children, but she went into premature labor five days later.

“And thank goodness that when my girls arrived, I looked at them and felt nothing but love. They actually saved me because I had to rebuild my life for them. I don’t think I’d be here without them,” Crombie expressed.
