A woman who was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list has been arrested after authorities offered a $1 million reward for information.
KaShawn Nicola Roper, 50, of Kansas City, is facing felony charges including murder in connection with the August 23, 2020 shooting death of 23-year-old mother Jazmyn Henrion.
According to the FBI, the shooting happened during an altercation when Roper allegedly fired several rounds into a vehicle in Kansas City, striking two women, including Henrion.
Court records show Roper was charged on September 10, 2020 in the 16th Judicial Circuit in Jackson County, Missouri, with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. An arrest warrant was issued the same day.
Federal authorities later became involved. On July 1, 2021, the FBI said a federal arrest warrant was issued in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri after Roper was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Roper was ultimately taken into custody in northern Florida. Police in High Springs arrested her during a traffic stop within city limits shortly before 10:30am local time on Wednesday, April 15.
Officials said she was located in Alachua County, roughly 20 miles northwest of Gainesville.

The FBI’s Kansas City Division had been publicly offering a reward of up to $1 million for tips leading to Roper’s capture. She was also one of only two women included on the agency’s Ten Most Wanted list at the time.
A press release stated that investigators received information pointing them to High Springs, where local officers later detained her without incident.
Kansas City, Missouri Police Chief Stacey Graves said the arrest was a ‘testament to the strength and connectivity of American law enforcement’.
The arrest came a day after the FBI held a news conference requesting help from the public to find her.
On April 14, 2026, the FBI announced Roper had been added to the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and that a reward of up to $1 million was being offered for information.

As of April 16, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office records indicated Roper remained jailed in Florida on a charge of being an out-of-state fugitive.
FBI Jacksonville Special Agent in Charge Jason Carley said: “I’m proud of the collaboration that made this arrest possible.
“From the moment we received information that Roper may be in our area, we surged into action, working in lockstep with our law enforcement partners to quickly track, locate, and apprehend her… Given the serious and dangerous nature of her alleged crimes, her presence in the community posed an ongoing threat that we could not ignore.”
