Three armed suspects tied up, blindfolded and robbed a 39-year-old woman in a violent Bronx home invasion, stealing nearly $343,000 in jewelry, cash and valuables.
The robbery happened around 10:15 p.m. Thursday near West 168th Street and Ogden Avenue in the Highbridge section of the Bronx.
Investigators said three suspects displayed knives and a firearm before forcing their way into a residence.
The suspects’ assault was brutal and methodical.
Once inside, the suspects allegedly assaulted the 39-year-old woman, removed her clothing, blindfolded her and bound her hands and feet with duct tape.
They worked quickly through the home searching for valuables.
Police said the trio then stole approximately $343,000 worth of jewelry, cash, perfumes and a cellphone before fleeing on foot.
The victim sustained serious injuries from the attack.
The victim suffered multiple injuries and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
Police immediately launched a search for the three men.
The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspects and is asking for the public’s help identifying them.
The Highbridge neighborhood, a section of the Bronx with significant residential and commercial activity, has seen similar violent home invasions in recent months targeting apartments and residences for cash and jewelry. The area near Ogden Avenue and West 168th Street is a mixed-use zone with both apartment buildings and small businesses.
