A Florida woman has been sentenced to prison after carrying out injections that resulted in the death of OnlyFans model Christina Ashten Gourkani.
Gourkani, 34, was widely recognized online for her resemblance to Kim Kardashian. Prosecutors said she died in April 2023 after receiving illegal silicone injections in her buttocks.
According to authorities, the procedure took place at a hotel in Burlingame, California. Before it was carried out, Gourkani and her fiancé reportedly met with Vivian Alexandra Gomez, a Florida resident who operated an unlicensed cosmetology business.
Not long after the injections, Gourkani became seriously unwell and was taken to the hospital. She died the following day, with the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office saying the cause was respiratory failure and a pulmonary embolism.

Investigators said Gomez traveled from Florida to California to perform the injections, then returned home afterward. She was later arrested under a warrant issued in San Mateo County.
Court records and local reporting show Gomez, 53, was convicted earlier this year of felony involuntary manslaughter, practicing medicine without a license, and inflicting great bodily injury in connection with Gourkani’s death. She was sentenced on Monday, June 15, to four years in prison. Prosecutors said she faced up to seven years in state prison. Her defense attorney said she does not plan to appeal.
Earlier this year, the San Mateo County District Attorney shared the outcome of the case on X.
“Vivian Alexandra Gomez (53) found guilty of felony involuntary manslaughter & practicing medicine without a license. April ’23, she flew to SF airport and administered gluteal injections to the victim at a hotel.
“The victim became immediately ill & died of respiratory failure.”
Illegal butt injections often involve substances such as silicone being injected directly into the body. These materials are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for cosmetic use in the buttocks.
Mya Care warns that these procedures are:
‘often performed by unlicensed or untrained practitioners in non-medical settings, which increases the risk of complications’.
Healthline also notes the dangers linked to the materials used in these injections:
“Commonly used materials in buttock injections — including hydrogel and silicone — can travel to other parts of the body, leading to granuloma lumps.”
Possible complications can include infection, disfigurement, and in some situations, strokes.
The same source further warns there have been:
‘a number of reported deaths’
It also states that:
‘inexperienced providers may accidentally inject the materials into your blood vessels,’
If that happens, the substances can reach the heart and become fatal.
