A woman expressed her dissatisfaction with the outcomes of a weight loss medication she used and shared what she wished she had done differently.
In recent years, weight loss medications have gained significant popularity, prompting more individuals to consult their healthcare providers about starting these treatments.
Nevertheless, some users have taken to social media to voice concerns about potential adverse side effects, costs, and overall results.
Julie McFadden, a hospice nurse, revealed that she lost 20 pounds after using a weight loss medication but ultimately felt ‘disappointed’ with the outcome.
While she does not regret taking the drug, McFadden wishes she had approached her weight loss journey differently.
In a video posted in November last year, she shared: “I lost weight, about 20 pounds, I used a GLP-1, it took about 8 months and what I found after I done that is I didn’t like my results.

“I looked too skinny, in my opinion and I felt very, very weak, like noticeably weak.”
At 43, McFadden admitted she neglected the advice from several doctors regarding necessary actions while on the medication.
She was advised to incorporate weight training and consume more protein due to her age.
McFadden explained: “Because of my age and because I’m on this medication, I need to eat a lot of protein.
“Of course, they gave me a number of how much protein i should eat in a day but i can’t remember but i didn’t do that.
“They also said, you must weight train while you are on this medication but I didn’t do that.

“By the end other 8 months yes i lost 20 pounds but i was like ‘huh’, what is going on here.”
She expressed her discontent with her new figure, lamenting the loss of her usual ‘curvy’ shape and ‘bubble butt.’
McFadden shared a recent photo of herself, describing her appearance as ‘scrawny.’
Her doctors now recommend tapering her off the weight loss medication and have urged her to consume 90 grams of protein daily, along with regular weight training.
McFadden concluded by affirming her belief in the efficacy of GLP-1 drugs, stating she has no regrets aside from not following the appropriate exercise and dietary regimen.
