Woman Struck by Lightning Shares Her Near-Death Experience in Detail

A woman who initially believed there was no afterlife experienced a life-altering event when she was struck by lightning.

Elizabeth Krohn was near a synagogue in Houston, Texas, when she claims to have been hit by lightning.

At the age of 28, and as a mother of two, this incident in 1988 marked a significant change in her life.

While others have recounted intense pain or visions of otherworldly phenomena after surviving lightning strikes, Krohn describes a different experience — she claims she was transported to another realm.

She recounted walking with her son towards the synagogue, holding an umbrella, when her life took an unexpected turn.

In an interview with Coming Home, on YouTube, she shared: “We started walking, suddenly, there was like a chill in the air. And it felt like static electricity. My hand was right in front of me and I looked down and thought, ‘This is stupid, I shouldn’t be holding the umbrella like this.'”

At that moment, she was struck by lightning.

She recalled: “As soon as I thought ‘let go, just let go of the umbrella,’ a large bolt of lightning hit the top of the umbrella.”

Krohn said that right after the strike, she saw herself lying on the ground and realized that her life had ended.

She explained: “As soon as I realized I was dead, a light appeared. The light was wholesome. It was alive. The light was conscious. And it wanted me to follow it.

“It led me to a place that I called the garden. It wasn’t a garden like you would think of here on Earth. The words don’t exist to really adequately describe the place I was in. Everything was perfect. This place was heaven.”

During this experience, she encountered God, who communicated with her through the voice of her deceased grandfather, who had passed away a year prior to her near-death experience.

Krohn recounted being given a choice: “‘You can go back, you can stay here’. There was a beautiful path in the garden and it led to a mountain range that was off to the right. Apparently, if I decided to stay, I would take this path over the mountains.

“The entire time I was there, everything was so perfect, there was nothing I could have asked for. Everything I needed was right there. Why would I go back?”

However, she learned something about her future that motivated her to return.

She explained: “He said ‘there was more you had planned to do in this life. You will have a third child, it will be a girl’. He said ‘she has already picked you and your husband to be your parents. You can either go back now and finish. You’re 28 years into it. Or, you can start over.’

“That made it pretty easy. I need to go back and just finish the job.”

Upon returning to life, Krohn initially kept the experience to herself, fearing disbelief from others. Yet, she felt she was brought back for a purpose and, interestingly, later gave birth to a baby girl.
