A woman has recounted her near-death experience in vivid detail.
Dr. Mary Neal, a seasoned kayaker, found herself in a life-threatening situation despite her extensive experience in the sport. While on a kayaking trip in Chile, Neal went over a waterfall and was quickly submerged under eight to ten feet of water.
In a situation where many would succumb to panic, Neal maintained her composure. She told CBN News, “I didn’t panic. I set about trying to free me or free the boat but the weight of the water and the force of the current was too great for me to do anything.”
Realizing the severity of her predicament, she came to terms with the possibility of death and turned to prayer, asking God for His will to be done.
“The moment I asked that, I was immediately overcome with this very physical sensation of being held and comforted and reassured that everything would be fine,” Neal recounted. “I was being held by Christ,” she continued, noting that it took her time to express this aloud due to feelings of unworthiness.
Neal described this as one of the most beautiful aspects of her experience. After what she described as being ‘released to the heavens,’ she encountered individuals she felt had known and loved her throughout her existence, recognizing them as important figures in her life story.
She emphasized that she never felt a transition from life to death, explaining, “I felt conscious then more conscious. Alive and then more alive. I never felt dead.”
During this profound experience, Neal said she saw her ‘life in review.’ Speaking to Women’s World in 2023, she explained, “It was the most life-changing part of this entire experience because not only would I re-experience an event from my life in real time, I’d also re-experience it from the perspective of everyone else involved.”
Describing her vision of heaven, Neal remarked, “Everything was all colors at once, like the Northern Lights.” She also described seeing a domed structure surrounded by countless souls welcoming her.
“It was like the building was built with fibers of love and it was so radiant and so alluring and beautiful,” said Neal. “It was iridescent. All I wanted to do was be there. But as all of that awe-inspiring love flowed through me, my guides told me it wasn’t my time.”
