World’s First Hello Kitty Restaurant To Open In Hong Kong, And It’s Too Cute To Handle

Brace your inner foodie and contain your school-girl shrieks everyone, because dim sum just got a whole lot better.

Hello Kitty, beloved by girls and women everywhere, is expanding past mere fashion accessories and stationery.

The cute cat will now also be available on your dumplings. That’s right, a Hello Kitty dim sum restaurant will soon open in the Yau Ma Tei neighborhood in Hong Kong.

From fresh shrimp buns to noodles, every dish is made to resemble Hello Kitty’s infamously adorable face.

The owner, Man Kwong, experimented with different iterations of dim sum. The final menu consists of 37 items, which were approved by Sanrio executives themselves.

Seriously, these buns are way too cute to eat.

As well as the food, everything in the restaurant is decorated with Hello Kitty’s face: mirrors, windows, teapots, tables, chairs, and even chopstick holders.

“Hello Kitty is more popular in Hong Kong than in [her native] Japan,” Kwong says. And he’s not lying, if Hong Kong’s Hello Kitty Organic Farm is anything to go by.

Man Kwong uses all-natural ingredients, as he believes that clean-eating is important. The Kitten’s faces are made using beetroot, squid ink, and flour.

The restaurant officially opens on June 1st, so expect a lot of excited girls and possibly a slight Instagram malfunction.
