At the tender age of six, Thylane Blondeau was hailed as the ‘most beautiful girl in the world’ by Vogue Enfants.
Her journey into the world of modeling began at four when she was discovered by a Jean Paul Gaultier agent amidst a crowd.
Since then, the French model, daughter of former football player Patrick Blondeau and TV host Véronika Loubry, has sustained her presence in the limelight. Her career has expanded to include acting, launching her own clothing line, and featuring in a fashion campaign with Zendaya.
Recently, Blondeau, now 24, made a surprise appearance at the Miu Miu show during Paris Fashion Week, drawing considerable attention.
Her presence at the event, despite her history of modeling for prominent brands such as Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miu Miu, generated a flurry of online speculation and criticism.
A number of social media users were quick to suggest that the model might have undergone plastic surgery, with some remarking that her facial appearance seemed somewhat ‘suspect’.
There is an increasing trend among Gen Z and young celebrities opting for both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 75 percent of facial plastic surgeons have seen a surge in demand from clients under 30.
Procedures like Botox and fillers are popular choices to enhance self-esteem, restore lost skin volume, and as a form of self-expression, according to Harvard Health.
In 2024, the medical aesthetics industry was estimated to be worth between $16 to $24 billion, highlighting its rapid growth.
In response to the cosmetic surgery rumors, Blondeau has addressed these claims, confidently asserting her natural appearance.
On Instagram, the Paris-based model shared a screenshot of a comment on one of her posts where a follower questioned ‘what happened to [her] lips’.
“Tired of these kinds of comments,” she expressed. “I know that this generation of people tend to do things very early, but I’ve never touched anything.”
She added: “You can look at photos of me when I was younger, nothing has changed.”
Blondeau mentioned that individuals around her frequently speculate, but wearing makeup or using lip liner doesn’t equate to having undergone any cosmetic procedures.
“At some point we need to stop with that. And honestly, since I was 10 years old people have been saying I’ve had something done to my face, it’s time to stop with that.”
In an interview with The Telegraph in 2018, Blondeau reflected on her fame, remarking that she’s ‘just a human being’.
“When you’re small, you don’t really pay attention, people are like, ‘you know, you’re the most beautiful girl in the world,’ and you’re like, ‘I’m not, I’m just playing with my iPad.” she joked.
“Even today, people are like, ‘you are the most beautiful girl,’ and I’m like, ‘no, I’m still not, I’m just a human being, a teenager,” she continued.
