World’s Most Gorgeous And Little-Known Library Is In Prague, Czech Republic

Is this the most beautiful library in the world? We think so.

The Klementinum library in Prague, Czech Republic, is magnificently decorated with ornate gilded carvings and a stunning ceiling fresco. It’s reminiscent of the library in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

According to the website, it’s possible to arrange private romantic tours of this wonderful library. You can even pay to arrange a proposal in the adjoining tower.

The little-known library is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture and was first opened in 1722.

It houses over 20,000 books, with thousands of theological volumes dating back to 1600.

Some of the rarer historical books from this collection have been sent to Google for scanning and will eventually be available on Google Books for all to enjoy.
