World’s Most Patient Pet Owner Gets Spotted Walking His Giant Tortoise In Tokyo

It’s not that far-fetched is it? A man in Tokyo owning a giant tortoise and enjoying daily strolls around town. Ok, it’s not so run-of-the-mill, but this is Japan after all.

Turtles have a lot of upsides as pets, such as being quiet and low-maintenance. Of course, they’re not perfect animal companions. Play fetch with the little devils and you may be waiting, oh, a month or so for the ball to ever come back.

“Come on boy. Let’s go for a crawl.”

“Who’s a good tortoise? You’re a good tortoise. Yes you are!”

The laid-back pair have been spotted in both Tsukishima (marked in red) and Ginza (blue) — a decent-length walk for most.

“You know, that flouncy blouse is really quite slimming.”

“No one better try to make a soup out of you.”

These two are truly a mysterious pair. And judging by the tortoise’s size they’ve clearly been together for quite some time.
