Donald Trump is scheduled for a medical examination later this week amidst concerns about his well-being.
Recent observations of Trump with a noticeable ‘large bruise’ on his hand have brought his health into focus. His team appeared to cover the bruise using substantial amounts of foundation.
Additionally, the president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition arising when leg veins become impaired and fail to function properly.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that Trump will be heading to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday (October 10) for his annual health evaluation.
“On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops,” Leavitt stated.
“While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check up. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering going to the Middle East shortly thereafter.”
Despite this visit, CNN reports that Trump had previously gone to Walter Reed in April for what was described by the White House as his ‘annual physical examination’.
The topic of Trump’s health spiraled into wild speculation, even leading to unfounded rumors of his death, which caused a stir online.
These rumors were partly driven by comments from Vice President JD Vance.
Vance asserted he could assume the presidency in case of a ‘terrible tragedy’.
“I’ve had a lot of on-the-job training in the last 200 days, but the president is in incredibly good health. He’s got incredible energy,” Vance told USA Today.
“While most of the people who work around the president of the United States are younger than he is, I think that we find that he’s actually the last person to go to sleep, he’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up and is the first person making phone calls in the morning.”
The vice president acknowledged that ‘terrible tragedies happen’, but expressed confidence that Trump is in good health and will complete his second term.
Further speculation arose due to Trump’s two-day absence from public view, prompting online discussions about his whereabouts given his frequent public appearances.
However, rather than assuming the president was simply occupied with behind-the-scenes activities, many prematurely concluded he was deceased.
