This Mom Illustrates Her Life As A Parent And It’s Spot On

Like any parent, Los Angeles -based freelance illustrator Liesbeth Ton has her own struggles. She illustrates her real-life experiences as a mother to three and we think there’s plenty of parents who can relate.

#1. Looking forward to freedom, then having nothing to do.

#2. Becoming the needy one.

#3. Finding happiness in unexpected places.

#4. Realizing others do not see what you see.

#5. Knowing what’s going to happen right before it happens.

#6. Being on call 24/7.

#7. Losing the only lifeline you got.

#8. Bathing in general.

#9. Knowing that you’re doing God’s work.

#10. Becoming some kind of bottomless milk-producing machine.

#11. Remebering that dads can be pretty awesome, too.

#12. Fighting new battles every day.

#13. Getting things wrong.

#14. Fleeting moments of sheer panic.

#15. Telling yourself it’s because they love you more… right?

#16. And taking the good with the bad.

That Happens

Lisebeth says that seeing moms and dads relate to her cartoons has helped her recognize that all parents are in this (read: struggling) together. High five Liesbeth!
