Youngest woman to visit every country shares her scariest travel experience

Lexie Alford, known online as Lexie Limitless, has been recognized as the youngest individual to have traveled to every country in the world. At the age of 21 years and 177 days, she achieved a Guinness World Record for this remarkable feat.

Lexie shared how her passion for travel began early, having explored 70 countries by the age of 18.

Although there are 195 countries globally, not all destinations are equally safe. Some can be far more intimidating than others.

While many people travel seeking relaxation, Lexie has ventured into some of the most perilous regions worldwide.

So, which place did the YouTuber find most daunting?

Lexie described: “It’s really subjective, because it also all depends on timing. But for me, traveling in Yemen was definitely a very eye-opening experience. They’ve been going through civil war for many years now. There was nowhere else that I had seen that had been so impacted by the war.”

The conflict in Yemen, led by the Houthi movement known as Ansar Allah against the military, escalated into a civil war in 2014.

Since 2015, the war has displaced 4.5 million people, with a significant percentage being women and children, as reported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

While Yemen left a profound impact on Lexie, she encountered other challenging countries to enter.

North Korea, a nation that generally does not welcome tourists, was particularly memorable for her.

Lexie managed to visit every country before turning 22 and North Korea stands out in her memory.

“So North Korea was the number one most complicated country for me to travel to. I actually have a full YouTube video about this on my channel. But this particular time, and still to this day, being an American, going to North Korea is illegal,” Lexie explained.

She elaborated: “I was able to go via the DMZ from South Korea, but it took three trips just to make that attempt.”

Lexie is featured in Charge Around The Globe on Prime Video, where she aspires to be the first person to circumnavigate the globe using an electric vehicle.
