YouTube Star Keenan Cahill Dead at Age 27


Keenan Cahill, famed for his popular lip sync videos with celebrities, has tragically passed away at the age of 27.

The YouTube sensation’s manager, David Graham, confirmed that Keenan was taken off life support Thursday afternoon at a Chicago hospital, following complications from open heart surgery.

Keenan revealed that he was set to undergo surgery on December 15. He had been diagnosed with Maroteaux–Lamy syndrome.

The star, who appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston in a Smart Water advert in 2011, shared a post on December 5th, reading “One week till open heart surgery. Wish me luck. Love ya’ll.”

Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome, is a “progressive condition that causes many tissues and organs to enlarge, become inflamed or scarred, and eventually waste away” according to MedlinePlus.

Keenan Cahill, born in Elmhurst, Illinois, has been a rising star since 2010. His entertaining clips have drawn the attention of celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry, 50 Cent, Nick Cannon, Justin Bieber, and more.

His fame has even granted him appearances in Sara Barilles’ music video ‘Uncharted’, and on stage with American electronic dance music duo LMFAO at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Cahill even got the chance to perform ‘Teenage Dream’ with Perry during her California Dreams Tour.


Cahill, known for his YouTube videos, has achieved over 500-million views. Numerous guest artists, including Maroon 5, Flo Rida, 50 Cent, Jason Derulo, Gym Class Heroes, Cody Simpson, Tinie Tempah, The Wanted, Big Time Rush, Glee, and Andy Grammer, have featured on his channel.

Additionally, he has released three singles on iTunes: Hands Up, Closer, and Back to Us.
