YouTuber Issues Alert About Deadly Dish That Sickened Him and Caused His Girlfriend’s Death

A YouTube star is sharing a stark warning about a popular delicacy after experiencing a devastating personal tragedy. Billy LeBlanc, who rose to YouTube fame with family-focused videos, has faced immense heartache following the death of his girlfriend, caused by a meal they shared together.

LeBlanc initially gained popularity through his channel documenting life with his kids and ex-wife, Katie LeBlanc. After the couple parted ways, Billy branched out to create his own content, attracting a sizable following with over 200,000 YouTube subscribers and nearly 650,000 Instagram fans.

The family suffered an unspeakable loss in 2015 when Billy and Katie’s young son Caleb died from natural causes. Recently, the family was struck by tragedy again when Billy’s girlfriend passed away after the couple consumed raw oysters together.

Shortly after eating the oysters, both Billy and his girlfriend, Natalie Clark, fell severely ill. The situation escalated quickly, and Billy awoke in a hospital to the heartbreaking news that Natalie had died.

In a gut-wrenching video posted on July 16, Billy recounted the harrowing experience to his followers. “We ate oysters and we both felt sick for a couple of days, and then I woke up and she was gone,” he shared.

“I spent 12 days in the hospital and eight days in the ICU. I don’t remember much of it – I was pretty much out of it most of the time,” he added, detailing the severity of his own condition during the ordeal.

The grieving YouTuber is now faced with the difficult task of piecing his life back together. He expressed his sorrow in a touching tribute to Natalie, reflecting on their time together and the suddenness of her passing. “I’m sure none of you know but I recently almost died. I was in the hospital for 12 days. Unfortunately, Natalie didn’t make it and she passed away. I will always remember how we got lost everywhere together. I will always love her and miss her. Be safe and hold your loved ones,” he posted.

Raw shellfish, such as oysters, can harbor dangerous bacteria leading to Vibrio Vulnificus infections. These infections can be deadly, causing symptoms like fever, chills, skin redness, vomiting, and an increased heart rate, which can quickly escalate to sepsis and shock, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Health experts urge anyone who experiences these symptoms after consuming raw shellfish to seek emergency medical attention immediately to prevent severe complications.
