YouTuber strives to surpass MrBeast’s 100,000 counting record, hits significant milestone during 24-hour stream

A YouTuber is taking on the challenge of surpassing MrBeast’s 2017 milestone where he counted to 100,000 in one of his early viral videos.

As of now, MrBeast’s original video has garnered over 33 million views. Known in real life as Jimmy Donaldson, MrBeast undertook the ambitious task of counting to the massive number, which played a significant role in propelling his career forward.

Today, MrBeast stands as one of YouTube’s biggest influencers, with an impressive 476 million subscribers on the platform.

The final cut of MrBeast’s video lasted nearly 24 hours.

Now, another YouTuber, Lets Test Laurence, seems eager to achieve similar fame by attempting to surpass MrBeast’s 2017 record by counting to 100,001.

Lets Test Laurence began his stream on February 13 and is approaching the 71,000 mark at the current moment.

After 24 hours of streaming, he had reached 40,000, with his supporters encouraging him throughout the attempt.

As Lets Test Laurence continues to count to 100,001, he understandably seems to be wearing down. Only time will reveal if he manages to complete this arduous task.

Reflecting on how MrBeast’s initial video contributed to his success, he spoke about the pivotal moment during a conversation with Jimmy Fallon.

Describing the endeavor as his ‘proudest accomplishment,’ MrBeast revealed: “The entire time, I was watching Game of Thrones and Naruto.

“But people don’t know that. And it’s just me counting. And so it looks like I’m just sitting there staring at a wall for, you know, 40 hours. […] They’re more clicking, like, ‘What is this idiot doing? Like, what an absolute moron.'”

MrBeast also shared one of his favorite videos he has created.

He recounted: “We put a Lamborghini on train tracks, and then I gave someone my credit card. I said they could buy whatever they want and if they stopped the train before it gets to the Lamborghini – basically derail it – they keep the Lamborghini.”

Jimmy Fallon expressed curiosity about how MrBeast could accomplish such feats, noting that he requires permission from NBC for most of his activities. MrBeast responded: “As long as it’s legal, I can pretty much do anything that I want [on YouTube].”

Indeed, MrBeast has pushed boundaries with his content, from organizing a battle involving 30 celebrities for a $1,000,000 prize to pitting 100 kids against the world’s strongest man. He’s pursued content with a wide range of participants and concepts.
