Zara Larsson claims she lost $3 million brand deal over her abortion joke

A video has begun circulating showing Zara Larsson revealing the financial impact her abortion joke has had.

Swedish pop star Zara Larsson has faced criticism from some fans after reacting to a TikTok clip posted from one of her shows.

The post in question came from a concert video shared by a fan, who added a caption that quickly sparked controversy and a wider argument online about abortion and how people talk about it.

“I didn’t know I was pregnant here but at least my baby got to hear ‘Midnight Sun’ before I aborted it.”

Larsson replied with a joke of her own and then reposted the clip to her TikTok account, a move that drew mixed reactions.

“I killed the performance and then you killed it after the performance purrrrrr”

As the exchange spread, Larsson pushed back against the backlash. A newer video has since been shared around social media, though it does not appear to be available on her TikTok page.

In that clip, she claimed the fallout went beyond online criticism, saying she lost a major partnership opportunity because of the comment.

“Lately with the abortion joke, which was very funny by the way, I lost a 3 million dollar deal and I was like okay, wtf.

“If you don’t agree me thinking that women should have access to abortion or that we could have a joking conversation about it, we are just not meant to be partners.”

She also addressed people who have challenged her directly, including those within her own fanbase, making it clear she isn’t interested in backing down.

“And I don’t give a f*** about it. You can give me a million DMs, you can send me a million comments about ‘boo, boo, boo, you are a bad person, you wicked witch’.

“I don’t give a rats ass because I am so sure of my stance in that.”

Reactions to the circulating video have been divided. Some viewers have said the situation has only made them more supportive of Larsson and her willingness to speak candidly.

Others have urged her to identify the company behind the alleged deal, arguing they don’t want to support a brand that would walk away over her stance.

At the same time, critics have suggested the phrasing and tone of the original exchange could be seen as insensitive and may inadvertently energize anti-abortion voices.
