Zero New Coronavirus Cases for New York City

New York City
For the first time since March, New York City reports zero new cases of coronavirus infections.

For the first time since March this year, New York City reports zero new cases of coronavirus infections on Sunday.

The state has over 401,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and over 32,000 deaths. It was considered the epicenter of the U.S. outbreak.

New York City health officials underscored that the new development means New York successfully flattened the curve and proven that states can safely and cautiously lift lockdown restrictions.

States that reopened too quickly after the lockdown are still experiencing high transmission rates. Florida, for one,  reporting a record-breaking 15,000 new cases on Sunday, the highest recorded in the country.
