Zoe Saldaña Secures Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez at the Golden Globes

The recipient of this year’s Golden Globe for best actress has been announced.

To commence the 2025 awards season, nominees included Ariana Grande, Zoe Saldaña, Felicity Jones, Selena Gomez, Margaret Qualley, and Isabella Rossellini.

This nomination was a first for Ariana Grande, known for her song ‘thank u, next,’ due to her recent role in the eagerly awaited film adaptation of Wicked.

However, it was Zoe Saldaña who took home the trophy for her performance in Emilia Pérez.

Saldaña’s co-star from Emilia Pérez, Selena Gomez, was also a contender for the same accolade.

During her emotional acceptance speech, Saldaña expressed her overwhelming joy, mentioning that this was her inaugural Golden Globe victory.

She praised her fellow cast members, describing them as ‘magic’.

Emilia Pérez has been recognized with numerous nominations at this year’s Golden Globes, including those for best musical or comedy, best original score, and best screenplay.

The movie was released on Netflix on November 13, receiving a largely favorable reaction from audiences.

Currently, Emilia Pérez holds a 76 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.8/10 rating on IMDb.
