It’s July again, and for the residents of Águeda, that means only one thing: hundreds of umbrellas! This remarkable and very recent tradition of only 3 years has gained this little municipality in Portugal a considerable amount of international fame and recognition. The assortment of colorful umbrellas are truly a sight to behold. And the great thing about them is that they not only add a lot of color to the streets, but act as a pretty good shade too!
