First trailer drops for Cobra Kai’s final season

The countdown is officially on for Cobra Kai enthusiasts as Netflix teases the arrival of the show’s conclusive season with a brand new trailer. Slated for a July 18 release on the streaming service, the upcoming season bids farewell to Johnny Lawrence as the Cobra Kai dojo is phased out of the Valley, paving the path for a new adventure at the world karate championships. Although the final stretch of episodes begins airing in just a few weeks, fans will need to hang tight until next year to see the conclusion of the series.

In a groundbreaking move for Netflix, Cobra Kai will be unveiled in three separate parts, each consisting of five episodes. The second installment will premiere on November 28, with the final chapter set to drop in 2025. This means there are still 15 episodes left to enjoy, though the anticipation may be tough for many.

The excitement is palpable on social media platforms, where fans express their enthusiasm. A post on X (formerly Twitter) shared: “All of the training has been for this moment. This is the ultimate tournament where legacy hangs in the balance. The final fight begins July 18.”

After viewing the trailer, one fan exclaimed, “I’ve been doing my rewatch! Can’t get over how perfect this series is. I HATE that it’s ending!” Another fan commented, “Cobra Kai is simply the best series ever, I need a tissue for this last season, this trailer is incredible!”

The series, which takes place 34 years after Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) defeated Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) in the 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament, follows Lawrence as he reignites the infamous Cobra Kai dojo for a new generation of fighters.

The creators of Cobra Kai, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, have expressed their pride in revitalizing The Karate Kid universe. They shared, “The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of ‘Cobra Kai.’ While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger.”

They continue, “This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more ‘Karate Kid’ stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.”
