Machine Gun Kelly is a prominent figure in the music industry, but what most people associate with him are his tattoos, making it particularly surprising to see him without them.
Typically, tattoos are a lasting form of body art unless one opts for the expensive and often painful process of removal or covers them with new ink.
However, the music star – whose real name is Colson Baker – is famous for his extensive and intricate body art.
So it was quite a shock for many when he appeared without his tattoos.
Instead of undergoing laser removal, which would have been both painful and time-consuming, Kelly had his tattoos concealed with makeup for his role in the 2022 film, Good Mourning.
Kelly co-wrote and directed this film with Mod Sun. According to IMDb, the movie centers on London Clash (played by Kelly), “a movie star whose world is turned upside down when he must choose between pursuing his one true love and landing a life-changing, starring role in a major motion picture.”
Kelly shared his enthusiasm for working with his girlfriend Megan Fox, stating: “I’ll always collaborate with Megan.”
He added, “I’m madly in love with her — and I’m also a fan,” as reported by People.
The film also features Pete Davidson, Dove Cameron, and Amber Rose, and it generated considerable buzz on social media.
On Instagram, Kelly discussed his ‘intense’ preparation for the role, saying: “I did 5 whole sit ups (and 200 blunts) to prep for my role in Good Mourning…”
Nevertheless, it wasn’t his fitness routine that captured fans’ attention, but rather how bare his body appeared.
This isn’t about his lack of clothing; it’s about his signature tattoos being covered up with cosmetics.
One fan commented: “you look extra naked without the tattoos.”
Honestly, that’s a pretty accurate observation.
Another user seemed to offer congratulations: “Oh snap no tattoos! Congrats !”
Not everyone was impressed, though. A different user remarked: “Y’all remember 30 seconds ago when we didn’t see that first pic?”
Yet another user made a humorous comparison: “You all look like characters from the movie with Howie Mandel called Little monsters.”
We’d argue he looks more like a grown-up Jack-Jack from The Incredibles, but everyone can have their own opinion.
