The 1800s were a different time. Many things that once were the norm are now lost in modern society. Horse-drawn carriages for daily transportation, telegraphs for long-distance communication, and the cooking of meals over open fire are just a few examples of this.
But five amazing women have lived long enough to bridge the gap between those seemingly distant times of old, and the present day. That’s right, these ladies were born in the 1800s, making them over a century old.
Having lived through two World Wars, the Cold War, the creation of electricity, the invention of automobiles, and the dawn of the Internet, what do these women have to say is the secret to long life? According to them, it’s all about sleep, exercise, and eating one’s favorite food every day (there was even a mention of chocolate).
Funnily enough, one woman credited her longevity to not being married for too long.
