The concept of sexual consent might seem pretty straightforward, but some people still can’t fully grasp it. These people may say things like “oh, but she was asking for it dressed like that” or, “she’s my wife and it’s her duty.”
Comic artist Alli Kirkham recently created a series of comic strips that show how things would be if we applied these arguments to things OTHER than sex, and illustrates just how absurd (and wrong) they are.

#1. If you agree to start something, you have to agree to FINISH it.
#2. You only need consent the FIRST time.
#3. But you SAID you liked it.
#4. You said you wanted it. That means ANYTIME, right?
#5. But it’s your DUTY.
#6. I did something for you, now you OWE ME.
#7. You were ASKING for it based on your clothes/actions.
