Sarah, a 17-year-old high school senior from Colorado, pulled off a feat no one else has done before: being crowned homecoming queen while wearing a dinosaur costume.
It all started when the teen decided to spend her first paycheck on an inflatable T-Rex costume.
“I thought it was awesome and hilarious,” she said. Sarah and her boyfriend were nominated for homecoming court for her school’s homecoming spirit day, and she was thinking of what to wear for the occasion.
“After I got home, I was trying to figure out what to wear to the game because they had said for court nominees to dress semi-formal,” she said. “So my mom and I thought it would be hilarious to put a tutu on it and make the costume semi-formal.”

The costume turned out to be not only hilarious, but also a winner — because Sarah came home with the homecoming crown.

Although she later donned a dress for the actual dance, Sarah said she is still in disbelief of all the attention her costume got.
“The way this has spread so quickly is really cool, but also a little scary,” she said. “But mostly cool.”
Her other amazing feat? Convincing a couple of kids she’s the real thing.
