Peppermint Tealight Holders

Getting your house ready for Christmas can be fun if you go for a DIY approach. Instead of getting all the pre-made generic decorations from the store, why not make something cute and unique like these Peppermint Candy Tealight Holders. These are super cute and easy to make!

Materials Needed:

  • Peppermint starlight mints – 7 per tealight holder
  • Parchment paper
  • Glass Shot glass

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. It’s easiest if you cut it into the number of tealight holders you are making so you don’t have to do it once the candy is heated.

Lay your mints out so there is one in the middle and then surround them with six more. Place the tray in the oven and cook for just a few minutes until they start to melt and are shiny.

Just enough so they start to spread out, but before they start to bubble. Pull them out and let them cool for 30 seconds. They may still be extremely hot so you might want to wear oven mitts while you handle them, but flip the melted candy onto the upside down shot glass and begin to form it into shape.

Leave the mints on the glass until it has set then remove it. Set it up with a tealight and use them to decorate your table for the holidays!
