Antifa rallyists disrupted the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on Saturday causing tension to rise at the annual event. Video from the event showed the protesters, with their faces covered in masks, joining the rally.
The video had gone viral and had garnered more than a million views by Sunday afternoon.
The rally attracts Harley-Davidson owners and other bikers from all over the country and across the globe. The Antifa protesters entered the rally and were quickly surrounded by the rally participants.
Several of the bikers and the protesters exchanged shoves, and the police had to intervene. One of the protesters was pushed to the ground by law enforcers who were promptly arrested and led out of the event in handcuffs.
The tensions continued to escalate and the police had to escort the protesters out of the rally. A large group of bikers followed the police as the protesters were led away. The Rapid City Journal reported that more than 350,000 people attended the rally this year.
The attendance was down from more than 700,000 attendees in recent years due to COVID restrictions. 2020 marked the 80th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
