Al Roker was absent from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in over three decades owing to recent health difficulties.
Al was sent to the hospital earlier this month to treat blood clots in his legs and lungs. He was released on Thursday morning but didn’t feel like hosting the world-famous parade, so he watched it on TV from his kitchen.
Al has been a TV host for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the past 27 years, as you know. During the broadcast of “Today,” Al’s cohosts sent their well-wishes to the iconic weatherman.
Al shared a video on Instagram of himself leaving the hospital, referencing the Thanksgiving Day Parade. He expressed gratitude for being able to get home in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
