Movies that amp up the heat are nothing new, but there’s one film on Netflix that’s turning heads for its intense steaminess, drawing comparisons to 50 Shades of Grey. Adapted from Blanka Lipińska’s Polish novel, the first in a trilogy, “365 Days” features Anna-Maria Sieklucka and Michele Morrone as Laura and Massimo. Their relationship begins with complex dynamics but evolves into a passionate romance. The film is lauded for its sultry narrative, capturing the attention of audiences worldwide. (Netflix)
Released in 2020, “365 Days” quickly climbed the viewership charts. In the LADbible’s Netflix Bangers Facebook group, a fan endorsed the film, commenting, “If you enjoyed Fifty Shades [of Grey] then you are gonna love it.” Others debated the film’s worth, with replies highlighting its appeal to those who favor romantic and erotic storytelling.
Despite its popularity, the film hasn’t escaped criticism. (Netflix) It sports a meager 31 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a stark 0 percent on the Tomatometer. Critics have been harsh, with descriptions ranging from “like a big-budget porn film with dramatically thinned out narrative” to warnings of its “unambiguously abusive ‘foreplay.'”
For fans seeking more, the saga continues with sequels “365 Days: This Day” and “The Next 365 Days,” released in 2022, each maintaining the series’ trademark blend of romance and erotica.

Beyond “365 Days,” Netflix offers other sensual dramas like “The Boy Next Door,” starring Ryan Guzman and Jennifer Lopez, known for its fiery scenes. Despite the steamy screenplay, Ryan Guzman shared in a Cosmopolitan interview that filming was quite disciplined. “We kept it professional. Even when I’m grabbing on her chest, there were guards on them too, and my hand had to be positioned in a certain way so it didn’t show any of the guards [in the shot].” He humorously noted the use of a ‘d**k tie’ during shooting, which, despite its suggestive name, diminishes any real-life sensuality.
