Kelly Ripa reveals ‘inappropriate’ backstage conduct with Mark Consuelos that ‘could have gotten her fired’

Kelly Ripa has divulged a rather racy admission regarding some backstage actions involving her husband, Mark Consuelos.

The actor and TV host talked about behavior she described as ‘inappropriate’ for a professional environment.

She even mentioned that the situation was so intense that if they weren’t married, she might have been dismissed for inappropriate conduct.

During Thursday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly shared details about their behind-the-scenes escapades, indicating that things got quite heated away from the cameras.

Despite being married for 28 years, their passion evidently remains strong.

Kelly recounted the events to the audience, hinting at the couple’s backstage activities.

At the start of the program, she said: “I’ve got to tell you something. I did something backstage that was so inappropriate that, if we weren’t married, I would probably be fired right now.”

This was certainly an intriguing way to open the show, and Kelly went on to explain that she had appreciated her husband’s shirt.

She continued, seemingly addressing the crew, saying: “But, I have to explain myself. I started at the [shirt], and I was like, ‘I really love this shirt, I think it’s gorgeous on you’.

“And he goes, ‘Oh, thank you.’ And he goes, ‘Feel these pants. These pants are really comfy’.”

The host then described how she felt her husband’s pants, commenting on how they felt ‘nice’.

She added: “But, I was like, ‘My gosh, your thighs feel like they are made out of metal or stone.’ Marble! Carved out of marble.

“I’m backstage rubbing up and down his thighs, like, it doesn’t even seem possible. I realize people are looking at us like, ‘are you okay? Do you forget that you’re in a place of business?’ And, yes is the answer!”

Her husband of 28 years laughed and joked that he ‘may or may not file a grievance’.

Ripa responded: “Yeah, I mean, I don’t blame you. It’s so inappropriate, but, congratulations on your thighs!”

Both aged 53, the couple married in 1996 and share three children.

They met on the set of All My Children in 1995 and quickly felt a connection, leading to an elopement in Vegas.

Ripa disclosed that their elopement cost $179, inclusive of airfare.

Reflecting on the event, she said: “It really is such an efficient way to get married. And it was fun. We were like, ‘Now, this is gambling! Woohoo!'”

And no, the wedding was not officiated by an Elvis impersonator.
