Sydney Sweeney remains a prominent figure in Hollywood, and her nude scenes continue to be a topic of discussion.
Sweeney rose to prominence with HBO’s Euphoria, acting alongside stars such as Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and the late Angus Cloud.
Since the show’s debut in 2019, Sweeney has featured in projects like The White Lotus, Madame Web, Anyone But You, and Immaculate.
Those familiar with Sweeney’s work are aware of her comfort with nude scenes.
These scenes have undeniably contributed to the 26-year-old actress’s status as a ‘sex symbol’.
While this title might not be inherently negative, Sweeney has previously expressed that some people find it hard to differentiate her from her on-screen characters.
In a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sweeney stated, “People forget that I’m playing a character, they think, ‘Oh, she gets naked onscreen, she’s a sex symbol’.”
She continued, “I can’t get past that. I have no problems with those scenes, and I won’t stop doing them, but I wish there was an easier way to have an open conversation about what we’re assuming about actors in the industry.”
Moreover, she mentioned her complete trust in the filmmakers she works with, especially Euphoria writer Sam Levinson.
“I’m always so excited for whatever Sam writes,” Sweeney added.
Levinson is currently working on the script for the much-awaited third season of Euphoria, although he has encountered some ‘issues’.
Providing an update on the series last month, HBO CEO Casey Bloys said, “There’s been a lot of back and forth.
“One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set and what made sense then.”
This decision might not surprise many, given that many cast members portraying high school students are now 25 and older. Jacob Elordi, now 27, has also commented on this.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, Elordi expressed his hopes for season three to begin production soon.
“I hope it’s soon, or they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something,” the 6ft 5 Saltburn star joked. “I’m going to have a bad back walking down the hallway, you know?”
Currently, production for the third season isn’t scheduled to start until January 2025, so Elordi might want to keep his anti-aging skincare products handy.
