Bachelor ‘wins hearts’ after renting outrageous billboard to seek a date

A man from West Philadelphia has taken an unusual approach to finding a date.

While most people try to find love using modern methods like dating apps such as Tinder or by meeting people in traditional settings,

it’s not common for someone to use a billboard to search for a significant other.

However, that’s precisely what 28-year-old Dave Cline decided to do.

The data manager spent over $1,000 to rent a billboard in hopes of leaving the single life behind.

According to WPVI, the billboard is located in his local neighborhood and stands out due to its uniqueness.

It displays a large photo of Dave smiling and giving a thumbs up, with his cat also featured.

Including a pet in your profile picture is a known strategy on dating apps, so Dave’s move makes sense.

The billboard features a slogan that asks, “Want to go on a DATE with Dave?”

It also lists some ‘fast facts’ about him, highlighting that he ‘can cook (well)’ and has ‘normal hobbies’—whatever that means in 2024!

Interestingly, this humorous approach—which was meant to be “funny for the most part”—seems to have had some success, as Dave has received some messages since the billboard went up.

On Instagram, he wrote: “It may shock you to know, but the guy who bought a billboard as a funny hehe haha really is actually 100% single.

“If you live in Philadelphia (or anywhere with central AC) feel free to send me a message!

“My only request is that if you want to reach out, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t send me spam, threats, or anything weird!

“I have literally no idea if this will be popular at all or totally forgettable in 2 days, so just have fun and feel free to ask me out.”

Dave humorously added: “I’m glad I could bring joy to the people of this city. I can feel it healing. Mayor Cherelle Parker called me on my landline and told me she is resigning.

“She said there isn’t going to be a mayor anymore and that ‘really chill vibes and a some beers’ will be the new leader of Philadelphia.”

WPVI also mentioned that Dave has a date in the works.

Best of luck, Dave!
