Meet The World’s Largest Pit Bull Who’s Helping To Break Misconceptions About The Breed

Meet Hulk, the world’s largest pit bull. He is only 18 months old but already weighs three times more than a regular pit bull.

Technically, Hulk is still a puppy and is bound to grow to be about twice as large. But before you bolt out, this gentle giant will prove to you that the misconceptions about his breed are anything but true.

Should pit bulls be kept as family pets?

Hulk’s big build and infamous breed might be a menacing combination, but you’ll be surprised to know that this alpha dog lives with the Grannan family in New Hampshire.

Who says pit bulls can’t be trained?

The Grannan Family owns and runs ‘Dark Dynasty k9s’ in New Hampshire. This kennel specializes in training pit bulls as guard dogs to protect homes and families.

Do pit bulls attack small children?

“I have no concerns about any of the dogs around my son. They’re amazing family dogs. They go through extensive training and the little thing a kid is going to do to startle a regular dog won’t phase them at all,” says Lara. “No matter what the breed, it’s all about how you raise them.” Marlon lets their young son play with Hulk.

Can anyone own a pit bull?

“It’s all about the amount of care you put into these dogs.” Marlon says raising a pit bull requires a great amount of dedication. Pit bulls were bred for fighting. As a family pet, pit bulls need to have regular activities to redirect their high energy.

Can you get kisses and cuddles from your pit bull pet?

What most people don’t understand is that pit bulls need constant human interaction. These alpha dogs reward their human master with great respect and lots of sloppy kisses. “My hope is that we can stop ignorance and change people’s minds about pit bulls in a positive way with all this attention,” adds Marlon Grannan.

Should pit bull breeding be banned?

While raising this breed is not allowed in some States, legal pit bull owners see themselves as the examples of responsible pet ownership. They aim to dispel the stereotypes surrounding these dogs who are often misunderstood.
