Netflix Viewers Urge Removal of ‘Most Demonic and Depressing Movie’ Ever Watched

Typically, when viewers dislike a film, the most they might do is recommend others avoid it.

“Do I think you should watch it? No. Do I think you should be able to watch it if you want? Yeah, sure, why not.”

However, there’s a particular Netflix movie that has left some fans feeling so ‘depressed’ that they are not just advising against watching it but are outright calling for Netflix to remove it from their catalog.

This sentiment was echoed in a post within LADbible’s Facebook group Netflix Bangers, which drew hundreds of comments from fans who seemed united in their wish to have the movie taken down.

If given the choice, there are several films I’d gladly see removed from Netflix, starting with Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. However, the movie causing the current uproar is actually the platform’s number one film at the moment.

The movie is titled The Deliverance, which premiered last weekend and has topped Netflix’s charts since its release. You can watch the trailer below:

One fan remarked in Netflix Bangers: “Stop recommending The Deliverance! It’s 2hrs of your life you can never get back!”

Another viral post in the group demanded its removal, describing it as ‘the most demonic depressing movie’ they’d ever seen.

The Deliverance is a fantastical retelling based on the true story of a woman who claimed she and her children were haunted by ‘shadowy spirits’.

Directed by Lee Daniels, known for his work on Precious, the film has garnered a mixed reception.

While some viewers have found it to be a terrifying and emotional experience, others have criticized it harshly.

In the comments of the Netflix Bangers post urging fans to stop recommending the film, one viewer shared: “I agree! I know it’s based on true events, but everyone saying it was fantastic. I watched it and I was like wtf lol.”

Another viewer commented: “I was so excited to watch it lol wasn’t that good to me either.”

However, some viewers did defend the film.

One person commented: “It’s inspired by true events. Soooo if folks can’t stomach the truth, it’s definitely not for them.”

Another added: “Sorry, but that is just your opinion, doesn’t mean everyone else feels the same. People can watch whatever they want to, if I waste 2 hours of my life, it’s on me, nobody forced me to do it and it gives me no reason to yell at other people”.

The Deliverance is currently available to watch on Netflix.
