A man recounts an extraordinary experience of visiting ‘heaven’ while in a coma after ingesting supplements.
On January 18, 2003, Vincent Tolman lost consciousness after taking supplements purchased online with a friend.
During his state of unconsciousness, Tolman reported experiencing an unusual phenomenon where he observed himself lying on the ground.
He described this experience, stating he could see himself from above and witnessed paramedics attending to him.
In his narrative, Tolman recalled: “My friend and I had taken a dodgy supplement we had bought online, but the moment we consumed it, we knew something was wrong.”
The pair initially attempted to eat something, hoping it would alleviate their discomfort.
Unfortunately, their situation worsened, as Tolman detailed what transpired next.
He recounted: “I collapsed, and the next thing I knew, I was looking down at myself from above. The world felt like it had no ceiling, and I watched, calmly, as paramedics rushed into the bathroom and worked over the body.”
The scenario turned even grimmer when he observed himself being placed into a body bag.
“I watched as emergency services tried to resuscitate the man, but shortly after, they stopped and gave up,” he wrote.
“They zipped him up in a bright yellow body bag and carried him into the back of an ambulance.”
However, he saw someone realize he was not yet dead, leading to his revival.
Once hospitalized, he was put on life support, during which he claims to have embarked on a spiritual journey, gaining insights about life.
He expressed: “One of the biggest things I learned is that we’ve got it all wrong here.”
“We’ve allowed all of our traditions to convince us that all of us are on some kind of trial. But we’re not here on some kind of trial. We’re here to learn and to grow. That’s it, plain and simple.”
Among the three lessons he claimed to have learned, one was ‘authenticity,’ emphasizing being genuine and truthful with oneself.
The second lesson highlighted was that life is not a pass/fail test, but a process for learning and growth.
The third and final lesson he shared was to learn how to ’embody love,’ not just for oneself and others, but for the world as a whole.
